That looks like the simplest and most versatile way to get any/all of the attributes, if it can be implemented!

Those attribute additions would be pretty cool.

Don't get me wrong, I love SHELL dir but besides having xcompat issues with other OS platforms, there were also differences in Windows platforms like 98 to XP. The display was different, meaning that you needed two different methods to parse the information from the files they would generate with the ">" tag. 

Oh well, it's like my mommy always told me, "You can't spell Shell without hell." Goodnight my little Roseanne Roseannadanna!
