I've learned to do it this way: Only quote the relevant parts of a comment, the parts necessary for understanding the reply. For example, if a post only contains two lines: You could also do this... Code In this case there is no problem with a "full quote." It's about the page-long full quotes that ultimately don't contribute to understanding. That's what it's all about!
