Non-orthogonal grids? - James D Jarvis - 03-13-2023

Anyone know a good source for math (or even code) for designing non-orthogonal grids? I did a searches on two different search engines and was not impressed with the results.

Maybe some of these will lead to something useful?

Hopefully something in here can help you.

Hmmm... thank you. I have a couple decent hex-grid algorithms and hadn't thought of looking into them and other tessellated patterns to get what I'm looking for.

Here's a Hexagonal Tiling screen saver from watching Daniel Shiffman a few years back:

I cranked out a quick hex-maze generator.  Hex_Maze (qb64phoenix.com)

I ultimately want a rougher look than these regular cells but it certainly is a step in the right direction.
