Files for QBasic Programming Book..... - Space_Ghost - 07-07-2023

Quick BASIC Programming for Scientists and Engineers : CRC-Press; 1st edition (January 1, 1993)
This is a pretty hopeful request, but does anyone know if the modules (.bas files) for this book are available anywhere on the web?
The book originally came with a (yes) 5-1/4 inch floppy disk with the files. I no longer have such a drive, but hope the files reside somewhere.
Thanks in advance if you have any information. I would love to work through the programs being an engineer by trade.
PS - Uses QBasic 4.0 and book is 30 years old, but very relevant still.

According to this store they have a copy of the book with the diskette enclosed. I would contact them to verify however:

Edit: Ok, I'm seeing many sources with the exact same summary text stating "diskette enclosed with the book" so take these claims with a grain of salt I guess.

I was going to propose "archive-dot-org" but I don't know if a given book offered there comes with a cover disc. If it does then it could be damaged. Especially something that is 40 years old like a 5-1/4-inch floppy disk. But you might know the book comes with the printed source code which should be good enough, but not as fun having to type it in.

Hmmmm wait a minute, 5-1/4-inch floppy disk for a book published in 1993?! ROFLMAO.

Usually on that site only the books are offered, usually scanned into PDF format. Otherwise you might have to rent which sucks and that place isn't one of the first ones that comes to my mind to buy something. Neither does "ebay" but it could be even worse...

The book is easily available on many sites. I have ordered it. The issue is that getting the floppy is hit-or-miss and the sites are not reliable about stating the actual status of the floppy with the book. I have bought books in this era with 5 1/4 floppies and they actually worked. It appears that the modules as the book calls the .bas files are also in the text and can be typed in. If you look at the Google Book preview it is a very advanced book (see the TOC). Of course I use MATLAB, Mathematica, and Maple for such calcs today, but what fun is that? I recommend Abe Books for older/used books...they have been fast, reasonable, and reliable. I will post how the book came and any thoughts on it.
