Moon Lander - ChiaPet - 04-27-2022

Objective is to land softly on level ground.  Cancel the horizontal velocity
with left and right arrow, land by controlling the main thrust with up and
down arrow.

Has 10 surface features, including a McDonalds.  Several flying features,
like a Death Star, Borg spacecraft, and black holes.

Most of the files, in the directories stars1-3, are optional, only called upon
if one turns on the stars with 1-4.

Originally written in QB4.5.  Translated to QB64 it's much faster, which
allows all features to be active at once - stuff like fancy ground, stars,
a rotating Death Star, etc.

Take a trip down memory lane with /, which changes the display to green
screen, amber, or black & white.

Oy vey.   I attached a .7z file twice, and don't see it.

Will try again tomorrow.

Hi Chia,

I'm going to try a test 650mb 7-zip file here, and see if it takes...

Okay, Preview Post claims it's attached. Now I'll post it and edit the results...

Worked!

I'd recommend you select to do a "Full Edit" and try dragging your .7z file into the "Click or drop some files here to upload..." attachment region, and re-post.

Let us know the size of the zip, if it doesn't take.

Pete

Thanks, B+!  That version is probably ok.

The only change I recently made is to point  $EXEICON to the assets
directory for astro.ico instead of my icon directory.

I was able to upload a much larger chess .7z a week ago.  Odd that
Lander failed.

Maybe the star files aren't in that zip either, but they're automatically
regenerated as called upon.

Please try a full edit and try to upload the 7-zip fie again, in the original message. If it fails, let me know. This is something we want working. Code boxes are limited in space, so .zip, .7z, .bas, etc. are the only ways can put up large projects.

Thanks Richard,

Pete

+1 @ChiaPet what Pete said, be nice to know you can upload OK.

I can easily delete my post if you might be worried about duplications.

RE: Moon Lander - ChiaPet - 04-27-2022

Today the upload works. 'Tis magic.

Yes B+, please delete yours lest confusion reign and squirrels take over the planet.

Lander has a RIDICULOUS number of keyboard shortcuts for options that are optional.
F1 to see a couple pages of them. Fly thru the carwash. Deploy the parachute.

Starfish on toast  option?

L64 Download worked great! Yes many a new stuff! page 2 of at least 3 instructions ;-))
Steve Jobs is rolling in the grave. Without instructions this has more Easter eggs than Easter!
