It's officially 99.8 degrees F (38 C) outside right now with 55% humidity! While not uncommon to get this hot in Ohio it's the length of this heatwave that's unusual. I finally had to break down and turn the air conditioning on a bit ago. My computer was beginning to overheat.

Looking at VA's heat map there's a small area in the SW where temps are still in the mid to high 70s. No chance of that happening here, my part of Ohio is damn near as flat as Kansas.

See the triangle county between Wytheville and Roanoke? That's Steve-Land(tm)! We're several hundred feet above both of them, as we're right on the peak of the continental divide here, so the temp outside my door is 5 to 8 degrees cooler then they are, usually.
Which makes this not a bad place to live in the summer!

Woah that is hot, Terry. It's been hot down here in NC , but I it looks like you guys up there are getting it worse quicker this year. Our 10 day forecast here is all mid 90's. I've no working AC in my car. Not too bad driving with all windows down, but those long stoplights sure do get sweaty.

Living in Las Vegas and experiencing 117°F really changed the way I view heat. If it's under 100°F, not so bad as long as you're got some shade!

Here in St. Louis, Misery it's been in the low to mid 90s all week, with upper 90s expected this weekend.
My bedroom is the hottest room in the hottest apartment of a brick flat and to top it off my window A/C shot craps AND the frame of that window is too old and weak to support the new A/C I bought. So I'm using a portable A/C in the bedroom, venting the hot air into the rest of the house. It ain't comfortable in here, but it does stay at least a few degrees cooler on the hottest days.
And I've been keeping one eye on the temps on my trusty old PC, being careful not to overwork it.
Last evening I started to work on @bplus's latest challenge, made it to the debugging stage, then surrendered to the heat and scrapped my work. (grumble grumble, It's too hot to think! I know I could do this... I have nothing to prove to anybody, grumble grumble, Time for a relaxing game!)

It got so hot during the day (118F -> 48C) that we couldn't work on the planes because the metal would burn you. The worst was at night though. Being right on the Persian Gulf the temps would drop into the 90's but the humidity would rise. I spent many nights sleeping in my own pool of sweat.

Gosh I can’t imagine what 118F feels like. I was in some 105+ temp in Arizona once on a trip, but it was a dry heat and easier to take than a 95F humid day here in the south.
