WPF Message Boxes - SpriggsySpriggs - 10-23-2024 This is not something new. This is something I made a long time ago that I may or may not be trying to work on again. I like message boxes. Always have. Especially customizable ones. These are highly customizable and can replace the built-in error message boxes in QB64. RE: WPF Message Boxes - Pete - 10-23-2024 I achieved the same thing a long time ago with my patented WTF multiple-choice message box. Kidding aside, +1. I had not heard the term before, and had to look it up... Ah,, the WPF, obviously. Pete RE: WPF Message Boxes - SpriggsySpriggs - 10-23-2024 Yeah, these are generated using a PowerShell script I found years ago where this guy was making WPF (Windows Presentation Framework) message boxes. Then I just put a wrapper around it and made it customized for my usage. There are so many things that you can customize on these. It's insane. RE: WPF Message Boxes - JRace - 10-23-2024 RE: WPF Message Boxes - Pete - 10-23-2024 And that's why we needed that _TITLE statement! +1 Pete RE: WPF Message Boxes - JRace - 10-23-2024 A box like that could see a lot of use, the way Windows updates have been going. I actually wrote that in VB Script as a familiarization exercise. If didn't work. I still don't use VB Script for anything. RE: WPF Message Boxes - Pete - 10-24-2024 I only used VB script once. I needed a ton of help from Mac to get it working. It was a dialer app. I was able to get it to interface with my QB program to dial numbers on my cable phone. Too bad all that port stuff went the way of the Dodo (Gate's middle name). I'd give Steve's right arm to have a modern phone dialing app in QB64. Oh, and you can't make this stuff up, but back in the day there was this company that was working on some sort of dialer software. Talk about Pete's "Dumb idea of the day." Oh, nothing wrong with the company concept, it was their .com name they didn't think through... DialUPass.com I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have a hard enough time dialing my phone when my head's in the clear! Really nifty @spriggsyspriggs - I've never seen anything using that new WPF stuff like this before from any language. RE: WPF Message Boxes - SpriggsySpriggs - 10-24-2024 Yeah, and I can even make the message boxes circular... if I was a psychopath. |
