General Discussion - Freedom To Speak - eoredson - 02-24-2025

Hi,

I tried to post some discussion on this forum but requires a password.

Why is that not free to access and could you send me the password!?

Thanks, Erik.

All questions are answered here: https://qb64phoenix.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=107

Same rules, reasons, and passwords as what we've had since Thursday, April 21st, 2022, 11:05 PM. They're not hidden from anyone. Wink

There is no password.

There's none

Are we reading the same thread??  I'm lost at this point.

Let's see if I can break this down and take the mystery out of this for you.  These really aren't secret, nobody gets in without slipping the bouncer a tenner set of forums.

First, let's look at the forums themselves.  Just click on the "General Discussion" Forum and up top you can see the sub-forums for it.  The very first two entries look like this:

Now, let's look at the second post that I linked to for you.  This was a reply to Tim with the same problem as you -- he didn't know the answer to the password:

Read the first post and look at the answers to those last two questions.  You'll find the password inside the quotes.

Now this reminds you to read the first post and look at the answers to those last two questions.  The password is inside the quotes.

Well shucks, let's go back and look over that first post in that topic once more and look for the last two questions in it.  I wonder what might be inside quotes??

The last two questions in that first post?

Quote:What do you have to be to view any sort of adult material?  "over 18"

What limits do we place upon free speech and the freedom to speak?  "none"

You know...  If you look close, those questions seem to match some questions that sit underneath the relevant topics.  Refer back to the image above to try and sort out which is which...

And the password is inside the quotes.  Gosh, I wonder what they could possibly mean?!!  Maybe... The password is inside the quotes?  There's two forums, and only two quotes to look at --  "over 18" and "none".  Could it possibly be that those might be the passwords to get into those forums?

Nah!!  That couldn't possibly be the passwords...

Could they??

It couldn't be that if folks are directed to the post telling them the passwords are there, and then pointed directly to "Read the first post and look at the answers to those last two questions.  You'll find the password inside the quotes.", that it could possibly mean the password is inside the quotes of those last two questions?

Nah.  Probably not.

When it comes to the passwords for those two forums, I'd say they're probably none for the Freedom to Speak, and you have to be over 18 for NSFW stuff.

I've always found all of that pretty brilliant to trip up bots.

And it's a lot fewer characters to type than "Pete's a pain in the ASCII" which was Steve's first choice.

I am sorry for the confusion but it didn't seem quite obvious to me.

@steve: instead of the verbose reply you could have just stated this. Huh

Erik.
