Thought I would share something interesting - doppler - 01-20-2026

It's only interesting not because: 1. Runs on an HP calculator 2. Runs via Python
Because it's Basic. QB45 may have started way back when. QB64pe has taken a whole other leap forward. IMHO, QB64pe is not an emulation of QB45 any more (Really was it ever ??), it's a whole other animal in it's own right.
QB45 will never be obsolete, neither will be QB64pe. We already lost one founding member of the Basic language. What they created will live on.

runs via python. but not inside any calculator. "pc-basic". could even do "tandy" graphics. but now that's quite useless. a fun thing to do. in a linux "live" system. that otherwise someone doesn't want to keep.
someone wishing mr. gates bad. but not mr. jobs? it's been at least 10 years mr. jobs has been dead. "now look at you apple!"
it would make no difference neither. if mr. torvalds dies. and linux is completely replaced afterward. "oh well there's always good (free)bsd!" no! get ready for the future.
i was shocked that a baseball player. died at 34 years old. a few weeks ago. due to a failed surgery. actually saw him play on television.
enough obituaries. desired to try truebasic but was offended at the cost. but made a mistake anyway buying something else. even "less" basic than "microsoft basic". that i have never been able to use. mastergy's displays with three-dee animation? hah! nothing like that i was able to run. until i got a computer comfortable running 64-bit software. on debian "bookworm" base operating system. before that, ie. for windows, no chance to get "renderworld()" to do anything except crash or complain. the worst part? they're still selling it. and asking for donations for those like me. in the distant past who bought it.

It’s crazy how things change over time—especially when you remember the days of "pc-basic" and Tandy graphics, which felt so cutting-edge back then but seem so far removed now.
