QB64 and QB64PE together?
#11
qb64 "official" could be frustrating to use if you are on linux.  some distributions do not carry "xmessage". this is needed even so it could report runtime error messages like "illegal function call".  and otherwise people expect "zenity" or "yad" for the fancy open file dialogs and whatnot.  a short time ago i tried qb64 2.1 on one clone of slackware.  it kept throwing error-like warnings from "x11".  even though code worked successfully displaying the "main window".

if you do switch to linux (ubuntu, linux mint, arch, fedora, slackware etc.) then qb64 phoenix is highly recommended.  because it is regularly updated.  even though every effort is made to keep it compatible with old microsoft qb45 source code.  also compatible with most basic pds 7.1 functionality except currency type, isam and other things.  also compatible with most visual basic for dos functionality except creation of gui programs in the visual basic way.
