I'm not going to use somebody else's program for very long if I have to change the position of windows everytime I run it. It gets boring, it tires the hand having to use mouse/touchpad and some clumsy people (like me) have to use the touchpad which could act up at times.
It is also very annoying if the input box is very small for, say a 4k monitor and it's not placed in the middle of the screen.
Not sure what Petr has but I do have experience with a bunch of programs that refuse to put windows on the center of the screen as common courtesy. Some programs, one of them cannot remember where the user put its window(s) the last time it was run, but I take that over just taking the top-left or bottom-right or just generally annoying me about where it's placed. Or even worse, what is the size of a window or menu that is displayed as is so common with MATE desktop environment on Linux.
