My First Serious Game in QB64PE

in this game you don't shoot, you need to fly over the purple asteroid to scan it, then press space to lock on, then the fun begins.

I tried for about 20 minutes, hitting the purple asteroid twice and pressing the space bar, but nothing happened. - I will try again tomorrow.

@NakedApe - I also have problems with the mouse. I would prefer to control the whole thing with the keyboard, but that's just my personal opinion.

The only game I can't play without a mouse is Age of Empires I+II. I almost have more fun designing my scenarios than playing the actual game.  But I don't play much, not really.
Only now and then do I really feel like playing AoE, and then I play it for two or three weeks in a row. And then it's over for year again.

Thanks for trying so hard, @kernelpanic. You need to fly the ship directly over the purple rock at the same course and speed so that you stay in the middle of the rock. When you do that the rock turns orange and the % of scan gauge opens at the bottom of the screen. If you hover over the ship for a total of about 20 seconds then the rock turns green and you can hit the space bar to grab it - if the ship is still above the middle of the rock. Good luck tomorrow. Also I tried using the keyboard to steer the ship, but the mouse felt more natural to me...
