I updated the game tutorial to now reflect links that point to qb64phoenix.com
All links on the home page have been updated. All images, links, and directions have been updated in Task 1 to reflect using the Phoenix site and resources to install QB64 and the tutorial asset files.
I need to go through all the other tasks and update the Wiki links to point to the phoenix Wiki as well.
I'm currently looking into using something like WordPress to bring this tutorial into the modern era. I currently use Notepad and Kompozer which is a big pain in the ASCII to use when it comes to updating things. I've never been great at HTML and a WYSIWYG solution would be ideal. I've looked at WordPress and Wix. Any thoughts?
Perhaps the tutorial could somehow be incorporated into the Phoenix Wiki?

Wordpress is apparently the latest greatest thing since sliced bread. From what I've been reading up on it, it's apparently used for *everything* anymore. Unfortunately for me, I'm apparently too much of an idiot to sort out how the BLEEP to use it.
Like you, I've been looking for a means to bring some of my writings into the modern area. All I need is a very simple interface which consists of about 3 template pages. Page 1 is a simple listing of "Here's my books -- choose one!" Clicking on it takes you to Page 2, which is just a cover image, blurb, and chapter list for that book. Clicking on a chapter will then take you to that book's chapter, with 3 simple nav buttons at the top and bottom of the page for Previous Chapter, Home, Next Chapter, with an area for an user to leave comments at the extreme bottom of the page.
Nothing excessively complex, and something which I thought might benefit from using something modern like Wordpress, but so far I've had zero luck sorting it out. The interface is clunky. The way pieces pull together is a PITA. The insistence between "pages" and "posts" being different is nuts. Hell, I can't even sort out how to label multiple pages to make sequential chapters that a "Previous" and "Next" button would interact with!
I haven't dug into Wix or Squarespace yet, but if you have any luck updating your page, share it with me. Yours is a progressive chapter-by-chapter system as well, so if you sort out an easy way to deal with things, I might be able to incorporate those lessons for my own needs as well.

I had looked at Terry's Tutorial previously, but never got around to following it through. This post prompted me to go back, and I found it to be a great help in improving some algorithms I had developed for my progs. The _keyhit function was one I wasn't aware of, and I reckon this will be a great help. Thanks Steve for reminding me of the resource, and Terry for the great job in creating the tutorial. I recommend it to anyone (experienced or not) to expand your coding "vocabulary".

In my humble opinion, Google Sites is way better than Wordpress, or any other similar tool. It has been given a lot of new features now, and there isn't much you can't do with it - and much more easily than the others

I'm having the same issues. Wordpress is a mess ... I have no idea why it is so popular. I tried Wix for about a day and gave up. The terminology that these editors use and the sometimes insane paths you need to take to get something done is frustrating. Nothing is intuitive with them. Finding something simple seems to be non-existent as far as I can tell.

Thank you for this suggestion! I started using Google Sites this morning and it's exactly what I was looking for. Simple to use and very easy to figure out by just playing around a little bit. I've already completed a few pages of the tutorial using it. It's slightly confusing at first but once you start using it things start to make sense, not like Wordpress' or Wix's crazy convoluted interfaces. I even paid the $12 yearly subscription to have a new domain registered for the tutorial (I'll announce that when I'm finished) that is hosted by Google.

I have to admit, Google has their game going for the creation of pages and such. Designing a home page was a helluva lot easier with them, than it was trying to sort things out with Wordspace. My only question at this point is: How to export the page from there to my own domain? It seems like sites only wants to publish to a goggle sites domain, and basically all you do is end up turning your domain name into a pointer that points back to their website. Can't say that's exactly what I'm looking tor, at all!

I'm not sure how you would do that? I opted to get a new domain name and that domain was automatically linked to Google Sites. When I publish it updates both the Google Sites link and the domain URL at the same time. When I visit the URL it does not link me back to Google Sites like you are experiencing. Perhaps there is a way to transfer your domain to Google Domains?
