From there, I then move the files to where they should go, regardless of whether they are 7z, RAR, bas, videos or songs, and so on. The only problems I have had so far have been with the two 7z files from here. As Steffan-68 already mentioned, you would have to manually unlock them in Defender. But I don't want to do that, even though I don't think the file really contains a Trojan -- but one have seen horses puke.

The default location is always checked by Defender.
I can use a different folder for the download and exclude it from scanning in Defender, but that is not the solution as potentially dangerous programs are no longer checked when downloaded.
