gcov.exe virus ?

False positive for sure.

It's mentioned in bold red on our Wiki FAQ page and various other places, that it's recommended to exlude the QB64pe folder from virus scanning.

My personal advise, also given several times here and elswhere is to keep unsigned 3rd party and open source software out of the windows interna (Program Folder), that place is reserved for software signed by/for Microsoft.

Open source as well as QB64pe should simply go into your "personal folder" (the logged on user folder) or any place below it such as "Desktop" or even keep and extract it in the "Downloads" folder.

The latter is my favorite, have so much software installed in Downloads on my private PC as well as at my working place PC and never had problems, and at my working place the IT is paranoid about security tools, virus scanning, group policies and other crap. Can't change my Desktop background at work, not even changing it to simply another color, not to speak about images.
