So, perhaps being overly pollyannish here, if these guys eventually provide a link to QB64pe, they would not necessarily be doing anything wrong, I don't think. Even if they charge for the training courses, this should not conflict with the QB64pe role in the world? Could even help to attract new users.

As far as I can tell, what they wrote in their site is valid information. It seems that someone over there did do their homework.

@bert22306 Take a look at my post here: https://qb64phoenix.com/forum/showthread...&pid=29596

As I mentioned there, the site has several errors which doesn't seem to relate to QB64.

1) The mention of using *strreplace* as a sub/function for data.  There's no command of this sort in the language.
2) It's the one place in all their pages where I *do* see them talking about a download -- for QBASIC 64.

We're not QBASIC 64.  Never have been.

BUT...  It's a similar enough name that they shouldn't have any issues calling themselves QB64.

And there's one thing that ***EVERYONE*** should keep in mind -- RC Cola never gave up rights to that website, nor the QB64 Team repo.  It seemed like he was trying to find a way to make money with the project, and something half-baked like this seems to be that it'd be right up his alley.

I, for one, have absolutely zero trust in it and I'd advise folks to not waste their time, money, and life worrying over it.  There's a reason why we took a step back from "QB64" and decided to go with "QB64PE", and this is it!  IF this is RC Cola, then it is, indeed, QBasic 64 -- or whatever he wants to call his branch of the language, before we all split off from it.  How he's changed it, rebranded it, altered it, is utterly outside my knowledge.  You may simply get a version of QB64 v2.1 and work from there.  Iy may be something 100% unrelated.  Honestly, I have no clue what the heck that site is supposed to be about.

But personally, I feel like IF it was a legitimate site, then they'd take the time to sign up here and mention something about it.  We're the only QB64-branch with a development team and regular updates.  We're the place where folks come to, to talk about the language and to ask for help about things.  With ZERO word from these guys on ANY of the QB64-development forums (ours or Cory's or any other that I know of), I *REALLY* don't think they're related to us.

I encourage everyone to avoid these guys like the plague.  I don't trust them at all, and I imagine the lessons they teach, you can find covered just as well in Terry's Tutorial for free.

Or maybe spy on them and report back to us here, because we'd be curious I bet!

I also bet it's some goofy or not AI generated lessons on demand with $'s.
