Hey,
First....this is NOT doom style! It is Wolfenstein 3D...doom was a little bit more advanced...Personally I only work with things from the Quake era onwards but I very much enjoyed the rabbit hole of converting 2d to 3d (20 years ago!) when I started to learn coding....
I am very much an advocate of having new coders learn these methods as modern languages, engines and the like require little, if any actual underlying knowledge from the developer.
I feel a thread for a QB64 community developed engine is well over due!
