@bplus - can you explain how your rtrim trick worked please? is it something i should use consistently?

Its a directory trick not one with RTrim$. BTW _Trim$() does LTrim$(RTrim$()) combined.
"." is short for the current directory as ".." is short for the directory above the present one.

It worked in the first code you posted to get the Menu up but fails in the 2nd code when you start building File$ or FileName$ off whatever is enetered for line 50

I've yet to find the right magic spell of words to access files in Downloads All Hallows Folder under All Hallows Folder after I extracted the 7z file of yours. 

OH! its All_Hallows in both places probably (with the underline).  I will try that!
