That was working until I changed something else, which threw it off. WP routines can get a lot like herding cats. Anyway, I had to change out a routine to get both conditions working.
I need to figure out a scroll method for the times Ctrl + arrow left/right crosses multiple spaces. I have a concept ready for that one, but I don't want it to create another cat stampede! When that gets finalized, I think this phase 1 part is done. I simply edited the previous code and will continue to do so until phase 1 is completed.
