Yeah, surgery here (Canada) would be free. And as far as brain surgeries go, this is about the best kind of brain surgery one could go through.
However, it is still brain surgery, and I agree with the surgeon: the slight risks heavily outweigh the benefits. As long as their is no pain (headaches or other), surgery isn't worth it.
Arachnoid cysts are usually birth defects. The slight double-vision has been there all of my life, so it has always been my normal.
That cyst, attached (they always are) to the spinal cord, is below my left eyeball, so pushing the old sponge towards my left eyeball (just a little), but mostly squishing the sponge towards the top-right side of my cranium.
The Fuchs Dystrophy, though, is something that only started about four years ago, making things blurry and mostly impacting my ability to read. (The blurriness makes it harder to distinguish the overlapping letters of the slight double-vision.)
The eye surgery for Fuchs is free too, but that requires an organ donor, and Fuchs Dystrophy seems to be pretty common in New Brunswick (Canada) because it is a genetic problem.
The arachnoid cyst is as is, as it has been likely my entire life, and as it will be forever more. The Fuchs Dystrophy will get progressively worse.
All that matters to me is: hey, I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just trying to make it easier for me to keep trucking along.
