I'd prefer sub/function normally.
To prevent clutter of functions in the IDE-list, I normally prefix them per group:
function csv.read
function csv.write
function tim.date2Number
function serial.open

etc
45y and 2M lines of MBASIC>BASICA>QBASIC>QBX>QB64 experience
