That is so unfair. You put tons of zombies in there and all you give that poor dude is a baseball bat. Where are the guns?

This is impressive… and nightmare fuel.

The story: There are three girls on the island. They are in danger because the island is inhabited by zombies. You set out to save them. You arrive in a motorboat. Find all three girls on the island, take them to the boat, and the mission is completed and you have saved them.
Since you are invulnerable and the girls do not die, the difficulty (number of zombies) is proportional to the playing time. I will show you a 'medium' difficulty level. The video is long, but exciting! Watch this video like you would watch a horror movie ![]()

If i could id remove all the + and give you a -1000000 as I am not so easily impressed as Pete and bPlus.
PLEASE STOP! All you are doing is layering BS on top of more BS and whilst the others here may be like wow! I aint that guy! Answer me THIS! How many GL units equate to 2 meters (6 foot!?) Unseen and Unimpressed (YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER!)

I don't understand your inaction! What's wrong with the previous ones?
Here's a little INTRO ![]()

YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST at GL but U havent actually pushed ANYTHING here...youve just merged things...AND ALSO you have not answered me...how may GL units is 2 meters? If i were YOU...go play Wolf 3d...remake us that first level, but with your maze engine, (the orbs that emitted light are awesome btw!) and could be chandaliers the player can shoot out, turn off etc...thatll teach you the shooting (use boundins boxes) and also maybe show you how trees and sunsets whilst impressive are second to the gameplay IM not knocking you but i think youre not really pushing yourself or Qb64 anymore... Side note...GDK4 is coming and with it, ALL GL modes DirectX and Vulkan will become available to you via my new wrappers! Googles AI says once done we can expect 500 fps with realtime lighting and allsorts! Me moving from QB back to C++ is proving most useful! Unseen

As someone who doesn't do 3D stuff, and who doesn't play 3D games, I guess you can stack me up there with Pete and bPlus. These demos are AMAZING to me, and I really don't see anyone else putting up anything at all of the same style to compete or compare with. This is all stuff which I'd never personally do, as I'm just personally not interested in this type of game. I'm an oldtime 2-D or 2.5-D turn-based, RPG guy. Games like the old Might and Magic, Wizardry, Ultima, Swords and Sorcery, ect, ect are my bread and butter. I'm not a Duke Nukem or Wolfenstein type guy, but to each their own. But to me, this is an excellent showcase of what one can do with QB64 and GL, once they start getting into it. Check the number of posts on stuff like this. See how many people post *anything* 3D *ever*. And then compare stuff like this against the body of works on the forums and as demonstrations for people to download and test out. Personally, this gets plenty of + upvotes from me. +1000001!

Fair Steve, but I do do 3D and this to me isnt that impressive at the surface and 2 mins into the code its even less so! There are 100% things that are great, i wont deny that for a second! BUT and its a big but, its nothing more than layering....the grass is on the same grid as the terrain and as are the trees...theres no weapons cause doing bullet collisions aint easy! Please dont take me criticising as bad, i see it more as constructive.... ![]() Thats my OBJ loader in 2011 and ![]() Terrain with sky spheres and quake 1 shotguns in 2012! So it being 2025! Impressed....nah John

The weak expression is that I like to do this. I have always avoided what doesn't interest me. But when something comes along, I am obsessed with it. This is not about "being the best", and I don't even do it in the hope of some benefit. If I am interested in something, then I become obsessed. I don't eat, I don't sleep, but I do it, and sometimes I am even late for work because of it. Why? I don't know. What I do is often not normal anymore. Because of myself, because of the feeling of success, because of the flow feeling... I don't know.
If anyone likes what I do, then I am happy about it. There is a lot of work in it, and if Bplus, Pete, SMcNeill, or anyone just writes that they 'like' it, then I am very happy about it, because there will be no other audience for it anyway. I am not saving the world, the thing will be forgotten, it is not permanent, so I am primarily destroying myself with this hobby for myself, for my own satisfaction. SMcneil, thank you for your kind review of what I do! Unseen, for now I'm 'learning'. New things are always coming, new questions are arising. The game is not finished yet. It may never be finished, because I'm always inventing something new. This is a sketch. I didn't want this in the first place. There's no goal at the moment....well, a lot of time was spent generating the maze, then it became this, and now I have to take out the maze, because it has nothing to do with the action. Shooting...yes, I want to include it, I've already done one. It's not there because the character isn't even uncertain. I can include a cube man with a gun, but I don't want that anymore. I still have a lot to learn in Blender to have a normal character and a lifelike weapon. I'm also studying it right now, because I can edit usable 3d models there. I also owe you a debt of gratitude, as I wouldn't have bothered with the game if you hadn't pointed out the 'gl_list' option. This opengl feature increases performance by orders of magnitude. No, I don't know "how many meters is a GL unit". |
