Program Crashes After Start in MacOS
#1
Howdy. While this chunk of my game runs fine in QB64pe v. 3.6.0, in versions 3.8.0 and up it crashes upon touching an input key. Attached is the source code, associated files and the error report, per instructions from SMcNeill. I hope a Mac guru can help me/us out with this! Thanks vm, Ted  Big Grin

Starts and  runs without any glitch that I can tell in Windows.  Looks like we really need a Mac Guru to take a look at this one.  Whatever's going on here is probably OS-specific.

Thanks for taking a look, Steve! And I'm glad it runs in Windows - at least...

For anyone taking the program for a spin, this is a work in progress that starts with you in the captain's chair of an automated ship staring at the nav screen. You can noodle about with the arrow keys. Turn off the annoying scanner with the <s> key. Press <d> for destinations. Make a choice and navigate the plotter to the dest. Once locked on, press <w> for light speed. At warp, press <s> or <f> for slow/fast, press <r> to start rotation (best at slow speed) and <q> to turn it off before barfing. Slowing down or arriving brings you to a planet. That's all I've got so far. I'm working on the bad guys and recovery drone now.

Do you know this movie?
Bright dragons take over the rule on earth. Totally stupid! But on an alien planet. . .

Looks like you are running this on a Mac with Apple Silicon. Unfortunately, I do not have one of those. I'll try it on an Intel Mac and let you know when I get some time.

Thanks, a740g! Yeh, I'm on an M2 Mac Mini.

I don't know the movie, but it looks wonderfully horrible... I am a sucker for the sci-fi/macho-warrior/monster-movie genre, so maybe on a slow night.  Wink

Works fine for me. I am on macOS Ventura 13.6.1 + QB64-PE 3.9.1 + Xcode 15.0.

I looked at your error report again. It seems like you are running into this https://github.com/QB64-Phoenix-Edition/QB64pe/pull/367
We fixed this for macOS after QB64-PE 3.8.0.

Can you download a fresh copy of 3.9.1 from https://github.com/QB64-Phoenix-Edition/...ses/latest and try again?
