Written In Stone - word puzzle game
#1
WRITTEN IN STONE is the first game I made in QB64.  It was first coded using QB64-SDL in 2013, and later the game was updated to compile in QB64-GL in 2020.

This is a word puzzle game, complete with sound and animation and help info.  Quotes are scrambled up, you must unscramble them to uncover the popular quote.  There are 50 well know quotes to unscramble.  Using the mouse, swap the letters to make quote appear.  You can only swap letters in the same column.

WinStone Looks impressive, but I couldn't run it; "Invalid Handle" error in line 1813. Maybe I need to update something?

S'okay, I hadn't extracted all of the files. Works great now! Sorry.
Good job. Blush

Thanks for the report PhilofPerth.  Not sure why that would fail there, unless the screen image in not being loaded to scroll.  I will test it some and see whats happening.

Question - are you running it under linux?

No, Windows. But see my confession in edit above, and relax! Sorry.

I had a spare 30-60 minutes to spare and gave your game a shot... There were some quotes I had not heard of before but finally got through them all... A couple of them were a bit tricky and the timer ran out... Really. That's all. Go away? How rude! LOL

Great game!

Oh. I forgot to mention... Not allowing the absence of a timer was pretty devious.... Well done!
Looking forward to you next project... Wink
