computer vision? capture still from webcam to memory & identifying colors & pixels?
#1
I'm interested in playing with QB64PE capturing a single frame at a time from a camera (built-in laptop camera, USB webcam, etc.) to an image in memory, and trying to identify colors or shapes in realtime (or semi-realtime).

I found @SpriggsySpriggs' API code which records 60 seconds of video to an AVI file:
And then I found this older thread where Spriggsy talked about snapping a photo to JPG:
Has anyone had any luck capturing a still picture to an image in memory and getting the computer to "understand" any of it?

Like for example, identifying and tracking the movement of a red laser pointer on a solid color background...
