Theres a default font at 14 pixels high? in QB64?

Yep, it’s the default font for screen modes 9 and 10. It’s actually the same font as 16, there’s just less spacing between text rows.

Font 8 is 8 x 8.
Font 14 is 8 x 14.
Font 16 is 8 x 16.

Font 9, 15, 17 is double the width of 8, 14, 16, so:
Font 9 is 16 x 8.
Font 15 is 16 x 14.
Font 17 is 16 x 16.

All this info is easily found on the wiki in the SCREEN pages where it breaks down all the various screen, the text block sizes and the default font used for each of them.,

After Screen _newimage(mywidth, myheight, 32 or maybe 12) who needs anything else?

Who wants to learn font sizes for different screens? waste of time! 8x16 is fine monospaced 8x8 next best for squares but too small for allot of reading. the rest you can do by loading fonts.
