Almost 500 QuickBasic Games
#1
I was going through some of my old hard drives and came across a folder with almost 500 QuickBasic games and screenshots to go with them.

I must have scraped a web site at some point in the past. Not all but many of the games also include source code. I noticed some of them use the DirectQB and SVGAQB libraries that were popular at the time so they will be a bit challenging to get running in QB64.

I zipped everything up into two files that can be downloaded below.

NOTE: I originally offered this as one big file that did not work, that's what replies below are referring to.

Attached Files
.zip   QuickBasic Games 1.zip (Size: 116.1 MB / Downloads: 270)
.zip   QuickBasic Games 2.zip (Size: 97.52 MB / Downloads: 192)

Ah, good old Google algorithms at play. It's been flagged for abuse for what ever reason. I requested a review of the file but I have no idea how long that will take. In the meantime this post should be deleted until I can get to the bottom of it.

Sorry for the post not working.

I just tried out your two games Space Invaders and Pacman. Very well made games, runs well. These old games are somehow timeless, they don't get old.
When I have some inner peace and play, I usually play Age of Empires I & II, which also run on Win 10. I always create my maps myself, as complicated as possible.

Is it a zip file?  Most archives can be uploaded here with about 200MB or so for a file size limit.  Might take a bit to up/down, depending on speeds, but unless it times out on you, it should be able to hold BAS files as they compress down amazingly well being basically just text.

Yep, it's a 213MB zip file, just above the limit. If you can raise the limit a bit I'll upload it here.

200 is all they let us go up to.  Any chance you can break it into 2 files for us?  Or maybe tweak the compression to get just a few percent smaller?  That's sooo close to the limit -- and that's the 2nd file that's been that close today!

I was just thinking the same thing. I'll upload two files here in a moment.
