Atari BASIC offered this feature, as well. I wonder why the QB developers didn't bother?

Yeah I was using Grymjacks inspired version for Fall Banner, it was fun! Makeup your own font and type out individual letters across the sky, any size!

Then you are on your way to making PRINTable characters of your own, you get sprites from a PRINT line.
